Source, Age, and Health Verification
Consider having your calves source, age, and health verified to
increase your calf marketing potential. Though there are more than
30 USDA approved PVP programs available (Process Verified Program),
OVS can assist you with registration and certification in the following
PVP's:
 MICRO
BEEF TECHNOLOGIES PVP is a USDA-approved Process Verified
Program. The MICRO PVP may be used by ranchers, feedyards, livestock
markets, or other producers to qualify cattle for export programs.
The program provides age and source verification through the USDA-approved
Micro Beef Process Verified Program (PVP) for Age and Source Verification.
OVS utilizes the Micro Beef Cattlelog" program to acquire your cattle
data.
Power
Genetics Passport ProgramŪ - source, age, and health
verification. Requires an on-site audit provided by an Overton Veterinary
Services, Power Genetics Agent. No restrictions on preconditioning
program (vaccinations). Calves can be sold into any source/age verification
market. Program compliant EID tag and dangle tag must be applied
to calf. Calves listed on the Power Genetics website. Certificate
provided.
Select-VacŪ and AgInfoLinkŪ - a Pfizer Animal Health sponsored preconditioning program with source-age verification through AgInfoLinkŪ. OVS veterinarians are Program Specialists for Select-VacŪ; specific Pfizer products must be used for preconditioning; registration and certification is done on-line through the web. Calves can be sold into any source/age verification market. Program compliant EID tag and dangle tag must be applied to calf. Calves listed on the AgInfoLinkŪ website. Certificate provided.
What is the cost? All programs have a base cost and
are dependent upon the level of preconditioning done to the calves
and the level of data management requested by you. The approximate
cost range, including tags, is $6.00 to $12.00 per calf.
Important
It can take 7-21 days to get all the paperwork completed and the program compliant ear tags delivered to you. Additionally, preconditioning may be scheduled during this time period.
